Dataprana acquires two sites outside Houston, Texas, totaling 92MW

Cryptomining firm Dataprana is expanding its landholdings in Texas.

The company announced that it has secured two sites in the Houston area, with a combined capacity of 92MW.

Both greenfield parcels, offering 45MW and 47MW respectively, are located close to operational substations and expected to be energized within 12 months.

Phase I energization on the 45MW parcel is targeted for Q2 2026. Phase I energization on the 47MW parcel is targeted for Q1 2027. Full energization on both sites is expected by mid to late 2027.

The company said the sites would be suited for small to mid-scale AI data center builds and other high-performance computing (HPC) use cases.

Traditionally a cryptomining firm, Dataprana is one of many firms in the sector pivoting to hosting AI and HPC workloads. Today, the company says it specializes in pre-fabricated, mid-scale facilities that can be brought online faster than larger-scale sites.

The firm previously launched a 30MW immersion-cooled mining site near Houston in La Marque, Texas, last year. Its website also lists a 1.5MW site and a 100MW site in Texas, and a 5MW site in Iowa.

The company said its current pipeline exceeds 600MW across multiple parcels in various stages of energization. It is working with Prana Energy, the firm’s dedicated land and power division.

“Today, AI infrastructure is mainly constrained by readily available power more than anything else,” said Igor Kovalyshkin, CEO at Prana Energy. “Our specialized approach is aimed at solving for this bottleneck by identifying, securing, and energizing sites that can deliver projects in under two years, giving our partners access to capacity on timelines traditional developers and hyperscale projects simply can’t.”
