Vantage tops out second building at OpenAI's Lighthouse campus in Wisconsin

Vantage has topped out another building at its upcoming campus in Wisconsin.

The company this week topped out the second data center at its Lighthouse campus in Port Washington, marking the completion of its structural framework.

“This achievement reflects the dedication of our employees, general contractors, trade partners, and community members who are helping bring this project to life,” the company said on LinkedIn. “At peak construction, the development will employ about 5,000 workers. Once complete, the campus will enable more than 1,000 permanent jobs and approximately 6,000 indirect jobs across the state.”

First announced in October, Vantage is developing the 672-acre campus for OpenAI and Oracle as part of the AI firm’s Stargate initiative.

The site will total 902MW and 2.5 million sq ft (232,255 sqm) across four buildings at full build-out. Set to go live in 2028, the campus will use closed-loop liquid cooling

Port Washington is located north of Milwaukee in eastern Wisconsin, on the shore of Lake Michigan. Once earmarked for a potential chip fab development, the site was taken over from powered land provider Cloverleaf Infrastructure.

Vantage Data Centers currently operates 35 data center campuses in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Its US sites include Arizona, California, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington state. More are in development in Indiana, Ohio, and Nevada.
